FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

With the sale of our current campus, LifePoint will be actively searching for a new location in Collin County that allows us to honor our current community here in Plano and our growing community in northern Collin County.

WHAT PROMPTED THIS?

The Board of Directors and staff have been discussing and praying about this potential opportunity since approximately November, 2019 when approached by an organization interested in buying the campus.  As LPC has been on a ten-year decline in attendance, this sale allows us to both right-size the LPC facilities for our congregation and provides the time needed to locate and prepare the next campus or campuses.

While there are a lot of things we don’t know, here’s what we do know:

      1. God has swung the door wide open for LPC to take this step of faith.
      2. The area to our north is exploding with growth.
      3. This is a God provided opportunity to share Jesus with more people.
      4. God will be faithful to provide.

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?

      1. To Share Jesus and Build Believers with our growing community.
      2. To reach the next generation.
      3. In light of our congregation decreasing in size, the mortgage and increasing maintenance of our current facility prohibits us from fully pursuing the mission and vision of LifePoint.

WHERE WILL THE NEW CAMPUS BE?

No decision has been made about the future campus(es).  Our vision is to find a location(s) that allows LPC to serve our current community in Plano and our growing community in northern Collin County.

WHEN WILL THIS HAPPEN?

We anticipate the transfer of ownership to be in May 2023.  At that time we will enter into a 2 year leaseback that will allow us to continue to meet weekly for Sunday service and on one night a week through May 2025.  During this two-year period, our team will actively pursue options for a new campus or campuses.

WHAT WILL CHURCH AT LIFEPOINT LOOK LIKE IN THE MEANTIME?

      1. Sunday service and ministries will continue!
      2. We continue to pursue our vision of making LifePoint a church where anyone can belong before they believe.
      3. We will be expanding our volunteer teams to serve the new people coming to our campus.

The Board and staff are excited about the opportunity, and we are trusting God for the next steps, and ask you to join us in prayer as we enter this next phase. Pray for God’s continued courage and wisdom for the Board and staff and that the Purchase and Sale Agreement will close timely to the benefit of both parties. We are on a spiritual journey to obey his command to Share Jesus and Build Believers while also being good stewards of the resources God’s given us. And together we are taking a step of faith for God’s glory.
