I love serving at LifePoint Church! LifePoint is where I became a Christian and made friends that will last a lifetime! I grew up in Plano, TX and graduated from Prosper High School where my biggest achievement was that I was voted in as Prom King! I graduated college from University of North Texas with a B.A. in communication studies.
After my time at UNT, I lived in Los Angeles to attend Biola University where I received my Masters of Divinity in Pastoral Studies. During that time I pastored a small church in Bellflower, CA where God broke my heart for the poor, the widows, the immigrants, and the orphans. In 2013, I met my beautiful wife Sarah, and we got married in October of the following year. After being away from home for over 8 years, my wife and I moved back to Plano for the privilege of being able to serve the students here at LifePoint.
During my free time, I love to travel and explore new places with my wife, walk my two dogs, dance to pop music, and root for the Dallas Cowboys (God’s football team).
Jon Wheeler, Middle School Minister

I was born in Denison, TX in 1985, and I committed my life to Jesus at the age of 12 during a camp in Falls Creek, OK. I was sitting off to the side of a huge auditorium feeling lost and alone when the pastor spoke of the blessing of Christ. I felt overwhelmed with emotion and a desire to to KNOW Jesus intimately. I walked forward and prayed with a leader to accept Christ into my heart and life. I remember walking back to the cabin that night feeling changed, loved and unafraid.
Later in my teens, I was on a mission trip where Jon truly felt God’s call on his heart to pursue Ministry and helping to further the Kingdom. I started this journey as the Elementary and Pre-Teen Director at LifePoint Kids, and now I am Middle School Minister at LifePoint Students. I have a passion to meet teens where they and help them discover a relationship with Jesus in their own lives.
Besides ministry, I love the Texas Rangers and baseball in general.
